As a collector of all things Sherlockian, I kept putting this book off. I kept telling myself I didn't really need another Sherlock companion book, but I'm weak when it comes to this sort of thing, caved in and bought it anyway. I'm glad I did! It's one of the nicer companion books I've seen. It's laid out nicely with a brief synopsis of each story as well as a history of both fictional and non-fictional characters & actors who have portrayed Holmes and Watson. I found the timeline in the beginning very useful. The images are really nice. Some of them were new to me. Overall I've found this to be an enjoyable compilation & a worthy addition to my collection. I think this would be a great place to start for anyone new to the Canon who discovered Sherlock from the excellent BBC production of the same name and wants to check out the original.
This is really the best reference book for Sherlock Holmes. There is a synopsis of all the stories with info on Conan Doyle and all the major characters. A very enjoyable read!
Very good as a reference book to all the stories.two novels and athe actors who have portrayed SH. If you are afan of SH, you will want this book in your collection.

This is great beginner book. There are lots of facts and trivia which effectively make this great bedside reading. I've always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and this is great addition to my library. For those new to Holmes, this is a great way to add something to the stories and help with understanding the world the Great Detective moved through. Two thumbs up!
Gave this to my daughter for Christmas. She watches Sherlock Holmes and Dr Who religiously on PBS. This is the perfect companion book to Sherlock Holmes.
Good summaries of many of the Holmes stories.
Very good, professional presentation. My only complaint is the summaries of the stories fail to include the conclusion... as if spoilers were called for in the case of stories that are over a hundred years old! Oh well, no big deal, since you can just google each story if you don't have the time to sit and read them all, but you shouldn't have to. Anyway, very enjoyable. Definitely recommended.
